Ensuring the energy efficiency and comfort of your home or building starts with air tightness testing. This service identifies and measures air leakage in the building envelope, helping you achieve optimal insulation and reduce energy costs. By pinpointing areas of air infiltration, we provide actionable insights to enhance your property's performance, improve indoor air quality, and meet building code requirements.

What to Expect During an Airtightness Test

To ensure a smooth and efficient airtightness test, there are a few preparations and procedures to be aware of.

For Method 1 tests, please shut down any continuous ventilation systems and provide access to ventilation duct entry points for temporary sealing. Ensure that fireplaces are off, closed where applicable, and clean.

For Method 2 tests, make sure all exterior doors and windows are installed, the air barrier installation is complete, and ideally, all services (electrical, water pipes, ventilation ducts) installations are finished. External entry points for ventilation ducts should be temporarily sealed. Additionally, we will need access to the test area and a power outlet for our equipment.

Upon arrival, our team will conduct a brief inspection of the test area to confirm that the building envelope is ready for testing. We will then install our equipment in a suitable opening and run a "cruise" pressure to ensure everything is set for the test. After performing the airtightness test, we will pack up our equipment and provide you with a detailed report of the findings within 48 hours, including ATTMA certificate.

We bring all necessary equipment, so you don't need to provide anything unless we communicate otherwise.

Following these guidelines helps us conduct the test efficiently and effectively, providing you with accurate and reliable results.
